Fuel injector cleaner is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to keep your engine running smoothly. By using it at the right time, you can prevent buildup before it causes performance issues or costly repairs.

Fuel injector cleaners are great when used at the right time.  While they promise to improve fuel economy, and clean vital engine parts—they need to be used at the correct time.  That time is before your fuel injectors get really dirty.

Why Use a Fuel Injector Cleaner?

Over time, deposits can clog injector nozzles, leading to rough idle, poor fuel economy, and even misfires. A quality fuel injector cleaner helps prevent this from happening.  You want to keep your optimal spray patterns and flow balance.  Fuel Injector cleaners are best when used as part of regular maintenance.  Every oil change is our recommendation.  We don't even sell these cleaners, we just use them because we know they work.  But once your injectors are really dirty, it's time to skip the fuel injector cleaners and get your injectors replacement.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions About Fuel Injector Cleaners

Do fuel injector cleaners actually work?

Yes — when used proactively, fuel injector cleaners can help prevent deposits and keep injectors flowing properly. However, they won’t fix clogged or failing injectors.

How often should I use fuel injector cleaner?

Most brands recommend using it every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or with each oil change as part of regular maintenance.

My injectors may be clogged, will fuel injector cleaner work?

Typically it will not work to fully restore the fuel injector. You can hope to restore some mileage but the results are usually temporary. A rebuilt set of injectors is the best solution for a set of injectors already giving you issues.

Can fuel injector cleaner fix misfires?

Not always. You will hopefully get some temporary relief after using the injector cleaner. If misfires are caused by clogged or damaged injectors, you’ll likely need replacement.
